Porsche Names Mahoney General Manager, MarketingATLANTA, April 30 -- Porsche Cars North America today announced the appointment of Timothy J. Mahoney to the position of General Manager, Marketing. Mahoney, formerly Director, Marketing for Subaru of America, will overseeing product planning, research, advertising, collateral, promotions, events and brand merchandising. He will report to Richard S. Ford, Executive Vice President and COO. "We are pleased to have Tim Mahoney joining us at Porsche Cars North America," said Fredrick J. Schwab, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. "Tim's personality is a good match for PCNA and its corporate culture. He brings with him a strong background in niche marketing, and we value his experience launching new concepts in a competitive market segment. Tim has demonstrated success in marketing, but more importantly, he has improved dealer satisfaction with marketing efforts." Mahoney was recognized by Advertising Age as one of the top 100 marketers in the United States. He was awarded the Gold Level Edison Award for new product development and introduction by the American Marketing Association. He was recognized as Brand Builder and profiled in Adweek/Brandweek. He joined Subaru of America in 1984, where he held a variety of positions in marketing. He was also employed at Sara Lee. Mahoney succeeds Joel Ewanick, who left Porsche to pursue other interests.
