Textron Names Elsborg President of Power Transmission Products; Elsborg to Lead Power Transmission Products' Accelerated Global Expansion
PROVIDENCE, R.I.--April 30, 1999--Textron Inc. announced today that Anton Elsborg has been named president, Power Transmission Products, part of Textron's Fluid & Power Systems Group, effective immediately. He replaces Chris Brown, who has left Textron to pursue other interests.Elsborg will be responsible for the management of the Power Transmission Products' fifteen major manufacturing facilities in nine countries and headquarters in Huddersfield, England. With product lines including drive systems, industrial gears, worm gear speed reducers, geared motors and gear sets sold under the David Brown, Cone Drive and Textron Industrial trade names, Textron's Power Transmission Products unit serves the rail transportation and specialist vehicle industry, a wide range of industrial OEM's, distributors and end-users.
Elsborg joined Textron in October 1998 through Textron's acquisition of David Brown Group plc, where he served as Finance Director since July 1990.

"His extensive background in this industry and his experience in managing global businesses will be a great asset as Anton leads the Power Transmission Products businesses into new markets and continued global growth," he added.
From 1985 to 1990, Elsborg held various management positions with Lucas Aerospace, including general manager of its Electric Actuator Division from 1987 to 1990. Elsborg also served as Controller of General Mills UK Ltd. from 1984 to 1985.
Elsborg has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Industrial Management, both from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
