Hayes Lemmerz International Receives First Contract for $10 Million for Disc Brake Rotors from GM's Delphi Chassis Systems GroupROMULUS, Mich., April 28 -- Hayes Lemmerz International, Inc. , the world's leading supplier of wheels and brake components to the transportation industry, is proud to announce that it has received its first disc brake rotor contract from Delphi Chassis Systems Group, a division of General Motors. The $10 million award marks the first order for rotors from General Motors. The contract is also a natural extension of the wheel , suspension and other products that Hayes Lemmerz currently provides to GM. Further details were not available. The Hayes Lemmerz front disc brake rotors will be used for a 1999 four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle. This rotor will be produced at Hayes' Homer, Michigan facility, located 60 miles outside of Detroit. The Homer facility is a 200,000 -- square-foot facility that employs 250 people.
