New Finance Director at Delphi EuropePARIS, April 26 -- Francois Degueldre will join Delphi Automotive Systems as finance director of its European region, based in Paris. Mr. Degueldre was previously chairman and chief executive officer of Honeywell France, where he was responsible for a wide range of financial, marketing and manufacturing operations. "With our spin-off from General Motors planned for May 28, the finance director position will be critical to our success as an independent company," says Hans Weiser, president of Delphi Europe. "Francois brings a lot of experience from several very successful industries. He will be a valuable member of our senior management team and a key player in ensuring that we meet our financial objectives." Delphi's European region had sales of $4.9 billion in 1998 and has 63 sites in 18 countries. Parent company Delphi Automotive Systems had sales of $28.5 billion in 1998 and is the world's largest supplier of automotive technologies. Acting Finance Director Ron Jones, who successfully guided Delphi Europe through several quarters of profitable operation, will return to the U.S. as soon as Mr. Degueldre has completed his familiarization.
