Federal-Mogul Named 1998 Best Supplier by Nissan UK

    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 26 -- Federal-Mogul Corporation's
Powertrain Systems operations in Bradford and Sunderland, England,
have received the 1998 Best Supplier Award by Nissan UK.  The award was
presented at Nissan's Supplier Awards dinner.
    "This award recognizes that our products support the quality of Nissan's
vehicles and the total satisfaction of their customers," said Alan Johnson,
executive vice president, Powertrain Systems.  "This is a tribute to the
teamwork and active participation of all our employees involved in designing,
developing, manufacturing and supplying parts to Nissan."
    Federal-Mogul supplies Nissan UK with piston systems.  Bradford
manufactures the pistons and pins, while the piston rings are manufactured at
the Sunderland facility.
    Federal-Mogul Bradford is a QS-9000, ISO-9001 and ISO-9002 certified
facility that manufactures light vehicle diesel and gasoline pistons.  The
Sunderland facility holds Ford Q1, QS-9000 and ISO-9002 certification and
manufactures piston rings for petrol, light and midrange diesel engines.
