LucasVarity Automotive Recognized by ToyotaLIVONIA, Mich., April 26 -- LucasVarity Automotive and joint venture partner Lucas Sumitomo have received Certificate of Achievement recognition from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America for quality performance in 1998. The Company's Brighton, Mich., facility produces prop valves for the Toyota Corolla while a Lucas Sumitomo plant in Lebanon, Ohio, supplies calipers and anti-lock braking systems for Tacoma, Sienna, and Prizm models. John Plant, president of LucasVarity Automotive, said, "We are pleased to be recognized for meeting Toyota's rigorous standards for quality and delivery. This performance will enhance opportunities to gain additional North American business with our Japanese customers." The Company has also been recognized by NUMMI, a Toyota-General Motors joint venture, for achieving 1998 quality and delivery targets.
