New Appointments to the Board of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited
    CREWE, England, April 22 -- Volkswagen AG's new appointments
to the Board of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited marks the end of
the period of transition in the management of the world's leading manufacturer
of luxury vehicles.  Volkswagen AG is pleased to confirm the following
management line-up:
    As of 1st May 1999, Tony Gott will become Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce
and Bentley Motor Cars Limited.  His appointment follows his position as
acting head of the company, a position he has held since the end of last year.
Tony Gott has been with Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars for 14 years, most
recently as Member of the Board for Engineering.
    Adrian Hallmark will be appointed as Member of the Board for Sales &
Marketing with effect from 1st May 1999.  Adrian Hallmark joins the company
following a three-year period as Managing Director of Porsche Cars GB.  His
predecessor, Keith Sanders, will be leaving the company at the end of April in
order to pursue other business interests.
    Dr. Ing. Ulrich Hackenberg will assume the position of Member of the
Board, Engineering of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited as of 1st May
1999.  At present he is Director of Car Body Development of the Volkswagen
brand.
    Hans-Georg Melching was appointed as Member of the Board for Finance of
Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited in August 1998.  Since then he has
also continued to fulfill his corporate role as Director of Group Accounting
in Volkswagen AG.  As of 1st July 1999, he will concentrate his efforts
exclusively on his tasks at Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited.
    Doug Dickson, Member of the Board, Manufacturing and Christine Gaskell,
Member of the Board, Personnel, will continue in their current roles on the
Board of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited.
