AutoNation To Open One Of The Largest Nissan Franchises In The Country
'AutoNation Nissan' in South Florida Will Sell
New and Used Vehicles at No-Haggle Prices

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 22 -- AutoNation, Inc.
announced today it has received approval from Nissan North America,
Inc. to open this week "AutoNation Nissan," an 18-acre franchised automotive
dealership in Perrine, Florida that will be one of the largest Nissan
dealerships in the country.
The South Florida "AutoNation Nissan" will sell new Nissan vehicles and a
wide array of used vehicles of all makes and models, all under a "one-price,
no-haggle" sales approach. It will also offer other AutoNation USA brand
attributes made available previously only on used vehicles at the Perrine
location.
The Perrine dealership is an integration of the location's existing
AutoNation USA used vehicle megastore and the former South Motors Nissan, a
neighboring Nissan franchise AutoNation recently acquired. Terms of that
acquisition were not disclosed.
This marks the first integration of an AutoNation USA megastore and a
franchised vehicle dealership. The Company said in January that it was
exploring such opportunities. AutoNation is exploring other integration
opportunities at other AutoNation USA megastore locations throughout the
country.
"We're pleased with this latest opportunity to market and sell new Nissan
cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles," said Steven R. Berrard, AutoNation's
Co-Chief Executive Officer. "Now, consumers will be able to buy new Nissan
products while enjoying the same AutoNation USA brand attributes that have
made our Perrine store such a success with buyers of used vehicles."
Added Mr. Berrard: "When we said earlier this month that our company was
changing its name to 'AutoNation,' we did so because the name fits better with
our long-term goal of building a national automotive retailing brand.
'AutoNation Nissan' in Perrine fits nicely with those plans and points us
toward further growth and progress."
Indeed, the formation of "AutoNation Nissan" builds on what AutoNation
accomplished last December in Denver when it re-branded 17 of its franchised
dealerships as "John Elway AutoNation USA" stores. Like the AutoNation Nissan
store in Perrine, those AutoNation USA stores in Denver today sell new
vehicles using AutoNation USA brand attributes that stand for trust,
innovation, value and service.
AutoNation, Inc. is the world's largest automotive retailer, with more
than 380 automotive franchised dealerships in 20 states and 45 AutoNation USA
used vehicle megastores in 13 states. AutoNation is also one of the country's
leading automotive rental businesses, owning Alamo Rent-A-Car, Inc., National
Car Rental Systems, Inc., and CarTemps USA. For more information, visit the
