Briggs & Stratton Declares Dividend

    MILWAUKEE, April 21 -- At the regular quarterly meeting of
the Board of Directors of Briggs & Stratton Corporation , held
today, a quarterly dividend of twenty-nine cents ($0.29) per share was
declared on the common stock of the Corporation, payable June 25, 1999 to
shareholders of record at the close of business June 3, 1999.
