Rush Enterprises, Inc. Appoints Randolph F. Goss Executive V.P. And COO of Construction Equipment Division

    SAN ANTONIO--April 21, 1999--Rush Enterprises, Inc. , which operates the largest network of Peterbilt heavy-duty truck dealerships in North America and John Deere construction equipment dealerships in Texas and western Michigan, announced that Randolph F. Goss (46), has been appointed to serve as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Company's Construction Equipment Division, a newly created position.
    Mr. Goss joins Rush after serving as the Executive Vice President of the Construction Equipment Division of RDO, Inc.
    In making the announcement, W. Marvin Rush, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said, "Randy's experience in the consolidation of the construction equipment industry, and his operational management record will help us greatly in growing our construction equipment network. We look forward to Randy joining our team."
    Mr. Goss joined RDO in 1996, and served as the Senior Vice President of the company's Texas division prior to becoming the Executive Vice President of the company's construction equipment division, which today is the largest John Deere construction equipment dealership group in the United States, with more than $320 million in annual sales. Mr. Goss also served as Director of National Accounts for Hertz Equipment Rental prior to joining RDO.
    Rush Enterprises operates the largest network of Peterbilt heavy-duty truck dealerships in North America and John Deere construction equipment dealerships in Texas and Michigan. Its current operations include a network of dealerships located in Texas, California, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Colorado and Michigan. These dealerships provide an integrated, one-stop source for the retail sale of new and used heavy-duty trucks and construction equipment; aftermarket parts, service and body shop facilities; and a wide array of financial services, including the financing of truck and equipment sales, insurance products and leasing and rentals. The Company also operates a retail farm and ranch superstore that serves the greater San Antonio, Texas area.
