SDRC's Interface Between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK is Available; Initial Installation at Raytheon

CINCINNATI--April 21, 1999--SDRC , a leading provider of enterprise product development solutions worldwide, announced the availability of the interface between its Metaphase(R) Enterprise(TM) product data management (PDM) software and Parametric Technology Corporation's Pro/INTRALINK(TM) application data manager. SDRC is the first PDM provider to deliver a full-featured interface to Pro/INTRALINK.
The interface between Metaphase(R) and Pro/INTRALINK(TM) provides Metaphase Enterprise users with access to any designs and drawings created by Parametric's Pro/Engineer(TM) CAD software. The interface provides a dynamic link between the two systems, immediately uploading any enterprise recognized product change data from Pro/Engineer to Metaphase Enterprise.
Raytheon Systems Company, at Waco, Texas, which uses Metaphase to manage its product data, including Pro/Engineer designs and drawings, has installed the interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK. Raytheon Systems Company installs specialized communication equipment in military aircraft. Metaphase tracks the review and approval of changes to work-in-process information during the design and engineering process.
"The interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK provides us with a true work-in-process tracking tool. We will be able to track the designs and drawings in Metaphase for use in multiple locations," said Frank Allen, manager, engineering automation services, Raytheon Systems Company at Waco, Texas.
The interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK was developed by Altair Computing, Inc., a member of the Metaphase Enterprise Solution Provider (e!sp(SM)) program. Through this program, SDRC identifies best-in-class technology providers to develop expanded capabilities and functionalities for their core products. The interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK provides a level of functionality its customers expect.
"SDRC is pleased to continue its leadership role in the PDM industry by expanding its extensive interoperability with CAD and information management systems via the interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK application data manager (ADM)," said Bob Nierman, executive vice president and chief operating officer of SDRC. "Our strong relationships with solution partners enable us to meet the business objectives of our customers with Pro/INTRALINK systems."
"The interface between Metaphase and Pro/INTRALINK will speed up product development by improving communication between PDM and CAD users," said Tanuj Bansal, manager, PDM Services, Altair Computing. "We're pleased to develop the first PDM interface to Pro/INTRALINK."
