Frissora Named Tenneco Automotive President

    GREENWICH, Conn.--April 21, 1999--Tenneco today announced that Mark P. Frissora has been named president of its $3.2 billion global automotive parts business, replacing Thomas E. Evans who resigned to pursue another opportunity.
    Frissora will be responsible for all operating and staff functions for the automotive business. He will report to Tenneco Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dana G. Mead. The appointment is effective immediately.

"He has clearly demonstrated outstanding leadership of the original equipment (OE) sector of our business, increasing sales and profitability significantly in the last three years. He has brought us to a new level of customer relationships and quality. I am confident that he will bring the same expertise and commitment to bear on the whole of Tenneco Automotive."
    Frissora, who has 22 years experience in automotive related businesses, most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of Tenneco Automotive's North American original equipment business and worldwide program management. Prior to joining Tenneco in 1996 as vice president OE sales and engineering for Walker Manufacturing, the company's exhaust business, Frissora spent five years as vice president North American marketing, sales and distribution for Aeroquip-Vickers Corporation. From 1987 to 1991, Frissora held a variety of management positions at Philips Lighting Co., and previous to that served 10 years in the Lighting Business Group of General Electric Co., with an emphasis on product development.
    Frissora holds a B.A. degree from Ohio State University and has completed advanced studies at both the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and the Thunderbird International School of Management. He is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers, Inc.
