Borg-Warner Automotive Declares Quarterly Dividend

    CHICAGO, April 20 -- The board of directors of Borg-Warner
Automotive, Inc. declared a quarterly dividend of $0.15 per share
on all of the company's issued and outstanding common stock.  The dividend is
payable May 17, 1999, to shareholders of record on May 3, 1999.
    Chicago-based Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc. is a product leader in highly
engineered components and systems for vehicle powertrain applications
worldwide.  The company operates 54 manufacturing and technical facilities in
13 countries.  Customers include Ford, DaimlerChrysler, General Motors,
Toyota, Caterpillar, Navistar and VW.
