Federal-Mogul Appoints Chip Mower, Director, Business Services
    SOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 20 -- Thomas W. Ryan, executive vice
president, chief financial officer, Federal-Mogul Corporation
announces the appointment of Chip Mower to the position of director, Federal-
Mogul business services, effective immediately.  Mower will report to Ryan.
    "We are fortunate to have the breath of business knowledge that Chip
brings to this assignment, including the Federal-Mogul specific experiences he
has gained as the director of audit," said Ryan.
    Mower's responsibilities will initially focus on the development of a cost
competitive, financial shared services operation that will provide a high
level of service to Federal-Mogul's U.S. operations in the areas of payroll,
accounts payable, operations consolidation and related processes.  In this
regard, the following individuals will report to Mower:
    *  Robert Lesko, assistant controller, St. Louis, who manages the shared
service financial activities at the St. Louis site including payroll, accounts
payable and consolidations
    *  Sharon Willey, accounting manager, Southfield, who manages
consolidations for operations on a global basis
    *  Mike Wolfenden, accounting services manager, Southfield, who manages
the corporate payroll and accounts payable activities
     Mower will continue to oversee the Audit function until a successor is
announced.
    Mower joined Federal-Mogul in 1996 as director, Federal-Mogul Audit
Services, his current position.  He was previously employed at General
Electric Company where he held management positions in audit and project
finance, as a business unit finance manager, and as a sourcing manager.
Mower is a graduate of the GE Financial Management Program.  He earned a
Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of
Vermont and is currently completing MBA studies at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate
School of Management at Northwestern University.
