AAA Names New Chairman At 96th Annual MeetingSAN DIEGO, April 20 -- Charles E. Allen, chairman, CEO and co-founder of the Graimark family of companies in Michigan, was elected chairman of the AAA Board of Directors at the 96th AAA Annual Meeting here today. More than 1,000 delegates and club officials, representing the federation's 91 affiliated clubs in the United States and Canada, also elected Robert Cardoza of Modesto, Calif., vice chairman, and Marilyn M. Pfaltz of Summit, N.J., secretary. The two-day meeting for the nearly 42-million-member, not-for-profit federation is being held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel here. Allen is a past chairman of the AAA Michigan/Wisconsin Board of Directors. The Detroit-based Graimark company consists of a real estate investment advisory firm, a full-service investment banking firm and the Domino's Pizza master franchise in South Africa. Cardoza has been a director of the California State Automobile Association since 1979 and is immediate past chairman of the club. He also serves as chairman of the AAA Financial Services Corp. Cardoza retired recently as chairman, president and CEO of Pacific National Bank in Modesto. Pfaltz has been a director of the AAA New Jersey Automobile Club since 1977 and served as chairman from 1995-97. She is a founding partner of P&R Associates of Summit, N.J. Re-elected to new three-year terms on the board of directors were: Terry W. Baker of Portland, Ore.; Marguerite D. Hambleton of Buffalo, N.Y.; Charles H. Hire of Columbus, Ohio; Edward L. Jones, Jr. of Philadelphia; and Ronald L. Steffens of Dearborn, Mich. Elected to new three-year terms were: Jeanette L. Gamba of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Willis B. Wood, Jr. of Costa Mesa, Calif.
