ST. CROIX, U.S. Virgin Islands, April 20 -- Thrifty Car
Rental will be the official car rental company of the 1999 St. Croix
International Triathlon, featuring more than 300 professional triathletes from
around the world, to take place on May 2.
In conjunction with the sponsorship, customers who rent from Thrifty in
St. Croix from April 28 - May 3, 1999, will receive a free MCI 15-minute
international calling card. To receive the calling card, advance reservations

This will be the second year that Thrifty has sponsored this event that
has established a reputation for challenging triathletes with one of the most
scenic and rigorous courses in the world.
The race course features a two-kilometer swim, a 35-mile bike leg
including the infamous hill known as "The Beast," and a 12-kilometer run. The
race will be televised on television networks worldwide.
