BREED Appoints Vice President, Investor Relations

    LAKELAND, Fla.--April 19, 1999--BREED Technologies, Inc. , a global leader in automotive occupant safety systems, announced today that Robin A. Kovaleski has been appointed in the new position of Vice President, Investor Relations.
    Robert D. Fincher, who has been responsible for Investor Relations, will continue to work closely with the Investor Relations department through his position as Vice President of Corporate Development, Planning & Analysis.
    "I am pleased to be working with Robin to further BREED's position in the financial community," said Fincher. "As we focus on our future growth, the need for improved communications to a worldwide audience will be met under her direction."
    As Vice President, Investor Relations, Kovaleski will develop strategic initiatives designed to enhance BREED's standing in the investment community through improved communication with stockholders, analysts, financial media and potential investors. Her department is responsible for financial publications, press releases and financial media relations, stockholder communications, analyst relations and internet investor relations strategy.

    Kovaleski's public relations career has spanned sixteen years, with a focus on investor relations for the last three years. She most recently worked for Sykes Enterprises in Tampa, Fla. She attended Appalachian State University for her undergraduate degree in English and Environmental Politics, and received her masters degree from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
