BAT International Pulse Charge Retesting Exceeds Simulation Predictions; New Data Being Gathered as Worldwide Web Teleconference Meeting is Rescheduled
CHULA VISTA, Calif., April 19 -- BAT International
(OTC Bulletin Board: BAAT) announced today that it's Pulse Charge
teleconference scheduled for April 20th on the World Wide Web will be
rescheduled. The announcement came in response to the most recent lab test
data at BAT International's Engine Dynamics Center in Costa Mesa, California.
"We were pleasantly surprised to learn that our previous Pulse Charge
tests results (see release dated 04/15/99) not only conformed to our
simulation models but are now ever better than expected," explained Joe
LaStella, president and CEO of BAT International. "Mr. Ron Holland, Director
of our Pulse Charge program at the Center, and lab technicians discovered that
changing the configuration of two Pulse Charged engine components now might
surpass our recently announced test results and simulation projections."
BAT International's patent pending (see release dated 09/15/98) Pulse
Charge technology significantly improves diesel engine fuel efficiency and
reduces emissions without adding devices to the modified engine. It is a
breakthrough in engine technology because it can achieves such exceptional
results at little or no increase in engine manufacturing costs.
"The achievement is really quite remarkable and like most great
discoveries flies in the face of 'conventional wisdom,'" said LaStella. "We
have discovered a method for reusing existing energy in an engine to achieve
the effect of supercharging (in addition to other advantages) which we have
called 'Pulse Charging.' However, unlike traditional supercharging, our
approach only involves modifying existing engine components while improving
our environment by reducing emissions. Now that's exciting!"
As soon as this additional round of lab tests is completed, BAT
International will finish the long-awaited final modifications to the first
heavy polluting older diesel bus engine, one of 150,000 such engines from a
manufacturer in Central Europe. BAT International is already receiving
inquiries about Pulse Charge technology from heavy truck fleet owners and
expects to both manufacture engines as well as license its technology to
engine manufacturers worldwide.
BAT International is organized as a holding company with major ownership
positions in subsidiary companies now commercializing advanced transportation
and energy technology products developed by BAT. Technologies developed over
the last six years include electric vehicles, composite chassis,
super-efficient and high power engines, electric bicycles and scooters,
advanced batteries, lubricant additives, and electric power generation
systems. For information, see BAT's web site at http://www.baat.com.
