Shareholders Approve Name Change From BTR Siebe

LONDON--April 19, 1999--United Kingdom-based BTR Siebe plc announced that at a poll held on Friday at an Extraordinary General Meeting, shareholders overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution to change the name of the group to Invensys plc. A total of 1,085,672,466 votes were in favor, which represented 98.75% of the votes cast.
An international advertising campaign to generate awareness of the new name was launched in the media this weekend. The change of name will become effective immediately and the new identity will, in due course, be adopted across the group.

"I am delighted by such a strong level of shareholder support for the group's new name. Invensys is a leading global electronics and engineering corporation and the new name is suggestive of the three keys to our future success: invention, innovation and systems solutions for our customers."
From April 19 the London Stock Exchange symbol will be ISYS and the US ADR symbol will remain as BTSBY for the moment. The web site address is www.invensys.com
