Viasystems Group Inc. Acquires PAGG Corporation
ST. LOUIS--April 16, 1999--Viasystems Group, Inc., one of the world's largest independent manufacturers of printed circuit boards and backplane assemblies, announced today that it has acquired PAGG Corporation of Milford, Massachusetts.Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Viasystems was formed in 1996 by Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Incorporated and Mills & Partners, Inc.
PAGG's state-of-the-art facility operates multiple surface mount production lines for printed circuit board and backplane assembly and has full box-build capabilities.
"Viasystems operating philosophy is market driven and customer focused," said Timothy L. Conlon, president and chief operating officer of Viasystems Group, Inc., "and the acquisition of PAGG enables Viasystems to provide a more complete solution to our customer demands for value-added assembly capabilities."
According to Ed Price, founder of PAGG and Viasystems' vice-president and general manager of the newly acquired unit, PAGG's pre-production services, full system build and integration, and volume manufacturing capabilities complement Viasystems existing strength in the backplane and fabricated board business, adding further creditability to the Value-Added Assemblies & Services business unit. "Our combined strengths," said Price, "enable us to meet demands, and enhance our position as a value-added supplier to a number of our customers worldwide."
