Barnes Group Stockholders Reelect Three to Board of Directors

    BRISTOL, Conn.--April 15, 1999--Thomas O. Barnes, chairman of the board, Barnes Group Inc. , today announced the reelection of three directors, for three-year terms expiring in the year 2002. The announcement was made at the annual stockholders' meeting held at the Company's Associated Spring facility, in Farmington, Connecticut.
    The three reelected directors are: William S. Bristow, Jr., president of W.S. Bristow & Associates, Inc; Robert J. Callander, retired vice chairman of Chemical Banking Corporation and executive in residence at Columbia University School of Business; and Edmund M. Carpenter, president and chief executive officer of Barnes Group Inc.
