AK Steel Names H. J. Rossi Director, Quality AssuranceMIDDLETOWN, Ohio, April 15 -- AK Steel said Henry J. Rossi, 45, was named director, quality assurance. He will have responsibility for all the company's quality assurance activities and functions in the new position. Mr. Rossi, a 20-year veteran of the steel industry, most recently was vice president and general manager of GST Steel Company, Kansas City, Missouri. GST Steel is a unit of parent company GS Industries of Charlotte, North Carolina. Mr. Rossi began his steel industry career in 1976 with U.S. Steel, progressing through a number of managerial positions at the former Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock, Pennsylvania as well as the Gary, Indiana, Works. Between 1992 and 1996 Mr. Rossi worked for AK Steel Corporation and its predecessor company, Armco Steel Company, L. P. in several operations management capacities. Mr. Rossi holds a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. AK Steel produces carbon and stainless flat-rolled steel for automotive, appliance, construction and other markets. The company employs about 5,800 people in plants and offices in Middletown, Ashland, Kentucky and Rockport, Indiana.
