Exide Names Kenneth S. Pawloski as Its New Corporate Controller
    READING, Pa., April 14 -- Exide Corporation , one
of the world's largest suppliers of lead acid batteries, has named Kenneth S.
Pawloski as Vice President-Corporate Controller.
    "Ken is an excellent addition to our team, and will be a tremendous help
in the management of our financial operations," said James M. Diasio,
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
    Mr. Pawloski was formerly vice president-finance at Cleo Inc., a
subsidiary of CSS Industries.  Prior to his assignment at Cleo, Mr. Pawloski
was vice president of the Consumer Products Group for CSS Industries.
    He began his professional career in 1984 at Arthur Andersen where he spent
11 years working in the Audit and Advisory Services division, as well as
Andersen's Business Systems Consulting area.
