Mitsubishi Motors Announces New Job Responsibilities For Odis ReidMMSA Vice President to Lead Company's Diversity and Minority Recruitment Efforts CYPRESS, Calif., April 14 -- Mitsubishi Motor Sales of America, Inc. (MMSA) today announced new job responsibilities for Odis Reid, formerly vice president, franchise development. In his new duties as vice president, diversity relations and minority recruitment, Reid will lead MMSA's diversity and minority dealer recruitment efforts; work with the company's Human Resources Department to develop training, recruitment and retention programs for women and minorities; act as MMSA's primary liaison with minority and women's advocacy groups; and direct and manage the MMSA/United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Young Entrepreneurs Program. "As we continue to transform MMSA into a company that truly reflects our customers and the American market, we recognize the need to dedicate a higher level of executive attention in support of our diversity goals and objectives," said Pierre Gagnon, executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Odis Reid combines an understanding of the retail automotive business with a personal dedication to increasing diversity in our industry. We believe he is uniquely qualified to fill this new area of responsibility at MMSA." In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, Reid will chair the MMSA Diversity Council and serve as MMSA's representative on the Mitsubishi Motors National Diversity Leadership Council. He will also work with MMSA's Marketing and Procurement Departments on supplier diversity matters, and with MMSA's Public Relations Department on philanthropic and community relations activities focused on minorities and women. "Recognizing that this new position is ambitious in scope, I look forward to devoting 100 percent of my energy in support of the company's goal to increase its efforts, and improve its track record, in support of diversity in the American market," said Reid.
