Tirex Begins Commercial Shipments of Rubber Floor Mats
MONTREAL, April 14 -- The Tirex Corporation
(OTC Bulletin Board: TXMC) announced today that it has began shipping rubber
floor mats to IM2 Merchandising and Manufacturing Corporation as per the five
year contract entered into by both companies in December 1998. The contract
calls for minimum US dollar sales goals of $19,908,000 over the next five
years. Tirex anticipates providing over one million floor mats for this
contract in the first year at an average selling price of $3.15 USD per mat.
Should the company meet their anticipated first year goals this will double
the current first-year sales goals called for in the five-year contract.
The Tirex mats are sold through a major national distributor of consumer
and commercial floor matting products, which has over forty years of market
presence, national trade show exposure, and well established distribution
channels in all areas of retail distribution, including large national retail
outlets such as Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
Tirex's Chief Executive Officer, Terence C. Byrne stated that this is a
very important turning point for the company. Tirex is maturing from a
development stage company to a commercial manufacturer. We are able to
produce clean ground rubber from our patented TCS-1 cryogenic scrap tire
recycling system and manufacture high volume molded rubber products for the
North American retail markets.
Mr. Byrne further stated that the vertical integration of the Tirex
operations is expected to provide significant competitive advantages to the
company in these molded rubber products markets.
