GNB Technologies Earns Toyota Quality and Delivery Certificates of Achievement
ATLANTA--(AutomotiveWire)--April 14, 1999--For the sixth year, GNB Technologies has earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement Award from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TMMNA).GNB, a leading manufacturer and recycler of lead acid batteries, earned two Certificate of Achievement Awards for 1998 for both Quality and Delivery Performance. The awards were presented to the GNB Original Equipment division, headquartered in Toledo, Ohio, during the TMMNA annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony, March 18, 1999, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
"This award reflects the dedicated work of many people who make up 'Team Toyota' and the high-quality, integrated processes throughout our manufacturing operation," said Tom Minner, President and CEO of GNB Technologies. "GNB batteries were shipped 100 percent on-time and 100 percent defect-free to Toyota facilities in Georgetown, Ky., and Cambridge, Ontario, Canada exceeding Toyota's Quality target established for GNB in 1998," said Minner.
Atlanta-based GNB Technologies has been a major supplier to Toyota since the company began production in North America more than ten years ago. GNB supplies the new Camry Solara built at TMMC in Canada, and the Camry, Avalon and Sienna vehicles built at TMMK in Georgetown, Ky. In addition, GNB batteries are installed in Toyota's newest, full-sized pickup truck, the Tundra, at TMMI, Toyota's newest assembly plant in Princeton, Ind. GNB manufactures the batteries for Toyota at its Shreveport, La., facility.
