Toyota Announces Major Executive Changes

    TOKYO, April 13 -- Toyota Motor Corporation
(TMC) announced today that it will make key changes at the senior director
level.  Under the plan, Toyota Chairman Shoichiro Toyoda will be made Honorary
Chairman, while President Hiroshi Okuda will take over as Chairman.  Vice
Chairman Iwao Isomura will remain in his post and Executive Vice President
Fujio Cho will become President.
    The changes will be made official at the board meeting following the
company's annual general shareholders meeting to be held in the later part of
June.
