X-Rite, Incorporated Appoints Bernard J. Berg as Senior Vice President

    GRANDVILLE, Mich.--April 13, 1999--X-Rite, Incorporated today announced the promotion of Bernard J. Berg to the newly created post of senior vice president responsible for new business development.
    The Grandville, Michigan-based maker of color measurement and quality control instruments stated that the promotion of Berg, 55, is an acknowledgement of his significant contributions to the company, and its confidence in the New Business Development group. Staffed with senior engineers and marketing personnel, the New Business Development team is dedicated to long-range thinking. The company anticipates much of its future growth to develop out of this strategic group.

His creative talent and drive makes him the ideal person to lead this strategic group.     Berg joined X-Rite in 1974 to team up with Ted Thompson in the development of X-Rite's first instruments. He was promoted to Vice President-Engineering in 1984 and has been the main force behind developing a world class engineering and research staff of over 100 people. Berg has also been personally involved in the development of many X-Rite products and holds ten patents.
    Berg is a graduate of Michigan Technological University (MTU). He is a member of many industry related and professional organizations including Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, International Society of Optical Engineering, International Society Color Council, and the prestigious Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society of MTU. He is an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and has 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
