Dollar Rent A Car Announces Alignment With Europe's Sixt Rent A Car

    TULSA, Okla., April 12 -- Dollar Rent A Car Systems, Inc., a
subsidiary of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc., announced today its
European rental reservations alliance with Sixt AG, following an earlier
announcement by DOLLAR(R) of the termination of its alliance with Europcar
International, S.A.
    Following the phaseout of the agreement with Europcar, Dollar and Sixt
will exchange reservations in the territories of their operations.
    Each company will continue to market under its own name.  No stock or
assets will be exchanged as a result of the agreement.  The announcement was
made by Gary L. Paxton, DOLLAR president and CEO.
    "It's a pleasure to announce the development of a relationship with such a
solid and reputable organization," Paxton said.  "Sixt, based in Germany, is
the largest car rental company in the largest car rental market in Europe, and
is represented in major countries both in western and eastern Europe, the
Middle East and Africa.  Our companies share many philosophies, including our
commitment to a simple reservations process, quality customer service and
excellent fleet management."
    The two companies' combined service capacity will meet the needs of the
global travel market at more than 1,000 locations in 49 countries with a fleet
of more than 140,000 vehicles.  The companies will provide services to
customers at suburban and on-airport locations at all major airports in the
United States and Europe as well as many other travel destinations.
