"As Mercedes-Benz expands its product and service offerings to a broader

created a dedicated position to steer this process and Debra brings us an
ideal combination of professional expertise and familiarity with the Mercedes-
Benz culture," said Jackson.

(NAACP).
As administrator of external affairs at MBUSI, Nelson was responsible for
developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to support the

chief architect of MBUSI's corporate citizenship strategy, Nelson worked
closely with government entities, educational institutions and other related
organizations associated with MBUSI.
From 1988 to 1994, Nelson served as assistant director of university
relations and director of media relations for the University of Alabama
System, where she worked with state and national media to communicate programs
and policies of the three-campus system.
Prior to joining Alabama's state university system, Nelson worked for
several news organizations in Alabama, where she held various community

director of community affairs at WBRC-TV, the former ABC affiliate in
Birmingham, where she also produced and anchored public affairs programs.
From 1980 to 1984, Nelson served as public affairs director, then news
reporter, at WSGN radio in Birmingham.
