Federal-Mogul Appoints David Valkanoff, Plant Manager, Aviation ProductsSOUTHFIELD, Mich., April 8 -- Robert W. Matz, vice president, operations, Ignition Products, Federal-Mogul Corporation announces the appointment of David Valkanoff to the position of plant manager, Aviation Products, Liberty, South Carolina, effective April 12, 1999. Valkanoff will have responsibility for the manufacturing, finance and human resource functions at the Liberty facility. "We are pleased to have a person of Dave's capabilities join the Liberty team," said Matz. "His fourteen years in manufacturing and his experience with lean manufacturing and constraint management implementation will contribute greatly to the continued success of Federal-Mogul Aviation Products. With this background, Dave will strive to shorten the lead time for delivery of Federal-Mogul Aviation Products and provide even better service to our customers." Prior to this appointment, Valkanoff held the position of plant manager at Federal-Mogul's Sevierville, Tennessee, facility. He began his career with Federal-Mogul as a product line manager at the Lafayette, Tennessee, site in 1987. Valkanoff also worked with Frigidaire as a manufacturing manager. Previously he held the position of plant manager at Borg-Warner Automotive in Sterling Heights, Michigan, before rejoining Federal-Mogul in 1997. Valkanoff earned a Master of Science degree in business administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and management from Albion College, Albion, Michigan.
