IHS TransPort Data Solutions and ITI Resources Launch Alert Service for International Trade Industry
NEW YORK--April 7, 1999--Tracking Important Government Documents Easy
International trade information publisher IHS TransPort Data Solutions, an IHS Group company, and ITI Resources, an international trade information consulting services company, announced today the launch of their new Alert Service. The Alert Service supplies customs-related news and documents to customers based on an individual profile created specifically for their business.
The unique Alert Service can track and deliver new, updated, and historical information, so customers eliminate the time-consuming task of weeding through thousands of documents searching for the right information to assist them in meeting their customs compliance responsibilities.
"Customers rely on us to save them time and money by managing and tracking many types of relevant government documents for them," said Tony Martinez, general manager of IHS TransPort Data Solutions. "With this new service, we provide a more proactive, tailored approach to delivering the information that fits our customers' specific needs."
A company has several options in developing its profile, ranging from tracking competitor activity to receiving all compliance-related information for a specific commodity. Each profile is based on a particular industry or harmonized tariff schedule (HTS) number and is set up to track product(s), HTS number(s), types of documents, or issues pertaining to customs rulings, antidumping/countervailing issues, competition, regulations and laws, or special issues. Information is delivered via e-mail or fax, while the frequency of delivery depends on the type of information that is selected.
"Customers that use the Alert Service can greatly increase their ability to show they have exercised 'reasonable care' to ensure that imported merchandise is entered correctly, thereby meeting their compliance obligations," said Joe Mattera, owner and founder of ITI Resources.
IHS TransPort Data Solutions and ITI Resources formed an alliance last year to provide a complete range of information, research, and support services, including the new Alert Service.
