Delco Remy America Announces Promotions in Aftermarket Sales DepartmentANDERSON, Ind., April 6 -- Thomas Jennett, sr. vice president & general manager, aftermarket, Delco Remy America, announced the following organizational changes. Kent Jones is promoted to vice president, aftermarket sales and Dave Stoos is appointed vice president, national accounts. Both positions will report directly to Jennett. In his new role, Jones will be responsible for the development of DRA aftermarket business through the original equipment (OE) service and independent channels of distribution. Prior to this promotion, Jones was director of sales -- heavy duty truck where he was successful in negotiating several long term contracts with major truck accounts, and securing new business volume in both the OE and aftermarket sector. Jones joined the Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1987 as a co-op student in the Heavy Duty Systems Strategic Business Unit. After graduating from GMI Engineering and Management Institute with a bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, he served as a production supervisor in the former Plant 17 and later was promoted to service engineer. In 1996, he became OE manufacturer account manager for the Heavy Duty Division, playing an integral role in obtaining new standard position business from leading truck manufacturers and key fleet accounts. He was also instrumental in the development and release of the new Delco Remy Quadramount series of alternators. Stoos, in his new position, will be responsible for the development and direction of programs aimed at growing Delco Remy America business in the national account markets. He has an extensive sales background in which he has been promoted several times. Starting at ACDelco Division of General Motors as a sales rep in Sioux City, Iowa, he was promoted to district sales manager, Omaha, Nebraska. As a member of the General Motors Service Parts Operations team, Stoos continued to build his sales expertise in the automotive arena. First, he was appointed zone fleet sales manager, Minneapolis, Minnesota. From there, he was promoted to account manager, Minneapolis; regional sales promotion manager, Atlanta, Georgia; zone sales manager, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and manager national fleet sales, Detroit, Michigan. Stoos earned a bachelors degree in economics from Westmar College in Lemars, Iowa and a M.B.A. in marketing from Cardinal Stritch College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. "These organizational changes further facilitate our strategic growth in the aftermarket," noted Jennett. Delco Remy America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delco Remy International, Inc.
