Racing Into the Future - SAE Dinner Meeting Gets up to Speed With Visteon Technology
DETROIT, April 6 -- In the global automotive marketplace or
on the world's race tracks, competition is intense. Competitive advantages
are hard to achieve and even more difficult to maintain. In a racing program
unprecedented among Tier-One suppliers, Visteon is providing leading-edge
technology to its racing partners competing in Formula One, CART, American
LeMans Series, NHRA, Enduro and the America's Cup. The Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) Detroit Section dinner meeting on Tuesday, April 13th will
feature the Visteon Racing story presented by the people who make it possible,
including Visteon's Global Technology Director John Quigley, Racing
Engineering Manager Jim Wuorenma and Racing Supervisor Mel Sarnowsky.
Visteon Automotive Systems is a full systems supplier providing a
comprehensive level of support to its racing partners with hardware, software,
control strategies and track-side assistance. Visteon is using the harsh,
demanding racing environment to prove out and refine innovative systems and
technologies in "time certain" conditions and then transferring these skills
to mainstream production applications.
Join SAE and get up to speed with Visteon Racing, on Tuesday, April 13th
at the Burton Manor, 27777 Schoolcraft, in Livonia. A social hour, sponsored
by Visteon, begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.; the
presentation starts at 7:45 p.m. Reservations are required and can be
obtained by calling the SAE Detroit Section at 248-357-3340. Tickets are
priced at $29 each, $14.50 for SAE student members. The meeting is open to
SAE members and non-members.
