Lescoa, Inc. Named as GM 'Supplier of the Year' for Console Assemblies
    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 5 -- Lescoa, Inc. (The Leslie
Metal Arts Co.) has been selected as the GM Supplier of the Year 1998 for
Interior Consoles and will be receiving General Motors' QSTP Award for their
excellent performance during 1998 in the area of quality, service, advanced
technology and price.
    The GM Supplier of the Year awards have been a long-standing tradition at
General Motors.  This award began in Germany over twenty years ago and
expanded to all of GM Europe in 1989.  In 1992 it became an International
Award.
    The Supplier of the Year represents being the "Best of the Best".  Of GM's
30,000 suppliers, Lescoa, Inc. is one of only 184 which have been selected by
teams of purchasing, quality, engineering and manufacturing people from GM's
operations around the world for this honor.
    Lescoa, Inc. designs and manufactures Console Modules, Ratcheting
Cupholders, Interior Trim Components for the OEM global market in their
facilities in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Officials from GM's Worldwide
Purchasing Management will visit their corporate headquarters following the
Award celebration in Detroit on Wednesday, May 5, 1999 to present this
prestigious "Supplier of the Year" award to Mr. L.E. Tassell (Chairman) and
Mr. D.E. Tassell (President) and their 1,500 associates.
    Lescoa is also known as a leader in Automotive Lighting Systems on a
global basis with strategic alliances in Austria, England and Mexico.
