Iammarino Elected New STI President; Rodhouse Honored with Institute's Leadership AwardMENTOR, Ohio, April 5 -- The Steel Tube Institute of North America (STI) elected new leaders and honored current president Thomas I. Rodhouse at its recent Annual Meeting in Rancho Mirage, California. Craig Iammarino, President of Welded Tube Company of America, was elected to head the STI for the next two years. He will serve as the Institute's president. R. Gordon Stewart, President of Copperweld Canada, will serve as the STI's Vice President. Both will begin their terms on May 1, 1999. Mr. Rodhouse was presented with the STI Leadership Award, for his outstanding service. It is the highest recognition the Institute bestows. The award is a three-dimensional replica of the STI's logo, which incorporates sections of round, square and rectangular steel tubing. Mr. Rodhouse is Chairman and CEO of J. H. Roberts Industries. "The outstanding leadership provided by Mr. Rodhouse has helped our organization show unparalleled growth and success," said Timothy F. Andrassy, Executive Director of the STI. "As a result, we stand ready to enter the new century as a vital and effective force for the promotion of the North American steel tubing industry." Two officers were presented with plaques honoring their service to the STI. They were Mr. Iammarino, who served as the Institute's Vice President and Treasurer for the past three years, and Lee G. Hooper, President of Sharon Tube Company, the STI's Vice President since 1997. The Steel Tube Institute was founded in 1930. It sponsors cooperative member efforts to improve manufacturing techniques in the welded steel tubing industry and informs customers and fabricators about the product's utility and versatility.
