CORRECTION: Hyundai March Sales

    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 2 -- Hyundai Motor America
would like to make the following clarification to LAF016, Hyundai March Retail
Sales Best Since 1991, moved earlier today:

    Hyundai Motor America earlier today reported March 1999 sales of 11,970
vehicles.  This represents an increase of 22.5 percent above the March 1998
total.
    The 67 percent increase described in HMA's earlier release by Robert
Cosmai, Vice President of Sales, refers to an increase in retail sales.
Likewise, the 31.8 percent increase in Sonata sales refers to retail sales and
does not include fleet business.
