Porsche's Strong U.S. Sales Continue for March With Thirty-Six Percent Increase

            Year-to-Date Sales Increase by Sixty-Three Percent

    ATLANTA, April 2 -- Porsche Cars North America, importer and
distributor of Porsche sports cars in the United States today announced sales
and stock figures for the month of March 1999.  Boxster sales totaled
1349 units for the month.  The 36 percent increase compared to March 1998
reflects an increase in supply for the month and continued strong demand.
Demand for the 911 Carrera continued to increase, with 835 units sold in
March.  Porsche sales for the year have increased 63 percent over the same
period in 1998.
