Mobil Develops Powerful Software to Help Reduce Industrial Customers' Expenses
FAIRFAX, Va.--March 17, 1999--maintain equipment for peak performance
Mobil Corporation today introduced the new and improved Mobil(R) Monitor Maintenance Professional, an enhanced oil analysis interpretation and reporting software program that monitors and accurately pinpoints potential operating and maintenance problems in manufacturing equipment. The new software program is designed especially for plants within the pulp and paper, primary metals, power generation, manufacturing, petrochemical, mining and construction industries.
"The new Mobil Monitor Maintenance Professional software offers tremendous cost-benefits and will improve business results for plant managers and plant maintenance managers in a variety of industries," said Industrial Lubricants Manager Jeff Webster. "Because it identifies unusual or abnormal equipment operating conditions and allows maintenance personnel to make corrections before damage occurs, Mobil Monitor will help reduce the need for replacement parts and cut purchasing costs, ultimately prolonging equipment life."
Mobil Monitor Maintenance Professional is a fully lab-integrated, Internet-capable, Windows(TM) based oil analysis software that is Year 2000 ready. It features technology that is designed for the electronic data transfer, display, trending, graphing and management of oil analysis and other routine condition-monitoring data.
In addition to Maintenance Professional, two other versions of software have been developed to meet specific end-user needs. They include: Lubrication Technician, designed for today's production and maintenance department environments Corporate Network, designed for the sophisticated environment of today's corporate computer networks.
Designed to reduce maintenance costs through improved operational efficiencies, Mobil Monitor software allows users to manage all data and reports from their computer. The software enables users to analyze and graph data easily to compare current results with past tests. Benefits of the proactive maintenance program include:
Monitoring lubricant condition
Measuring equipment wear
Tracking and isolating system contamination
Avoiding unscheduled equipment downtime
Scheduling equipment repair
Reducing machine maintenance expenses
"Mobil spent more than a year developing Mobil Monitor version 1.5, incorporating customer feedback during extensive beta testing," Webster said. "It has numerous improvements over earlier versions, including Internet access, new functions and continuous technical support."
