Hyundai March Retail Sales Best Since 1991

    FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 2 -- Hyundai Motor America
today announced sales of 11,970 vehicles for the month of March.
    "We are extremely pleased to see the retail sales momentum continue in
March as we posted a 67 percent increase compared to March of last year," said
Hyundai Motor America's Vice President of Sales, Robert Cosmai.
    "Year to date our total sales are up 13.1 percent compared to 1998 levels.
Our Elantra retail sales posted their best month since its introduction in
1991 with 5,453 sales and were up 181 percent over last March.  Sonata sales
also rose 31.8 percent for the same time period," Cosmai also noted.
