Isuzu Reports Company's Highest Month Ever for Commercial Vehicle Retail Sales
CERRITOS, Calif.--(AutomotiveWire)--April 1, 1999--American Isuzu Motors Inc. (AIMI) announced a 50% commercial vehicle retail sales increase over last March. The company's highest month ever, total retail sales reached 2,116 units, a 31% year-over-year gain and 50% increase over last month.
The dramatic sales increase follows several innovative customer service programs and can be attributed to a stronger product line. The company launched two new Class 5 products, the 2000 FRR with improved safety features and a choice of GVW ratings of 18,000 and 19,500, and the 2000 NQR with an increased GVWR of 17,950. "This record-breaking month follows the best year we've ever had. We're very encouraged to see this trend continue and we believe it's a testimony to our commitment to partnering with our dealers," said Jim Underwood, AIMI's Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, Commercial Vehicle.
Isuzu trucks have been the number one low cab forward truck in the U.S. for 13 consecutive years. Nearly 200,000 Isuzu-designed Class 3-7 vehicles have been sold in the U.S. since 1984.
