Laforza Automobiles Inc. Elects 1999 Board of Directors
SAN DIEGO--April 1, 1999--Laforza Automobiles Inc. announced the results of their election for Board of Directors at Laforza Automobiles Inc.The election returned David Hops, T. Robert Bell, Gene Stinson, and added newcomers R. F. "Skip" Braden, and Jay Johnson. President and Chief Executive Officer David Hops commented, "We appreciate the shareholders confidence in our efforts and direction. I am grateful to the returning directors and I am pleased about the addition of Skip Braden and Jay Johnson to the Board. I think everyone is excited about our vision for the future of Laforza and Monster Motorsports."
R. F. "Skip" Braden is Laforza's general manager and has more than 29 years of management experience. From 1995 until recently ARINC Research employed him as program manager overseeing engineering and support contracts valued in excess of $45 million. Braden retired as a captain from the U.S. Navy in 1994.
During his Naval service, he held numerous positions of significant responsibility including commanding officer of two aircraft training squadrons with a work force of more than 70 officers and 450 enlisted personnel operating nearly one billion dollars worth of equipment with an annual budget of $10 million.
Braden also served in various chiefs of staff positions responsible for operational and administrative matters for an aircraft wing with more than 400 aircraft and a Battle Group with 60 ships. Braden was the commanding officer of a fleet aircraft squadron that set records for safety, maintenance and operational effectiveness.
Braden graduated from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration. He maintains an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Rating and belongs to numerous professional and social organizations such as the Association of Naval Aviation (ANA), Early Ford V8 Club of America, and Porsche Club of America.
Jay C. Johnson has worked in marketing and broadcasting in California over the last 30 years. Most recently he has been involved as a developer of commercial and industrial properties throughout Southern California. He currently owns a horse ranch in Rancho Santa Fe, with wife Beverly. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1959.
The LAFORZA Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) is an upscale, luxurious 4 X 4 automobile whose rolling chassis' are imported directly to the company from the Italian manufacturer, Magnum Indusriale.
