Donnelly Joins Michigan Quality Council
    ROCHESTER, Mich., March 31 -- The Michigan Quality Council
announces the addition of Donnelly Corp. as its newest sustaining
member, according to Bill Kalmar, council director.  Membership in the council
consists of 30 founding members and has grown to 17 sustaining members.
    "It is a privilege to be a part of the Michigan Quality Council," said Jim
Cleveland, corporate director of quality systems.  "Donnelly Corp. has been
committed to providing quality products to its customers for many years now.
Joining the Michigan Quality Council as a sustaining member demonstrates our
continuing commitment to the business and civic communities within the state."
    Donnelly Corp. is the world's leading supplier of automotive mirrors and
mirror systems with 1998 sales of more than $700 million.  In addition, it is
a leading North American supplier of automotive modular windows, including
encapsulated and hardware bonded systems.  Donnelly's customer base includes
every major automotive manufacturer in the world.
    The company has been based in Holland, Mich., since it was founded in
1905.  Donnelly operates manufacturing facilities in several North American
locations, including Mexico, and in Germany, Ireland, France and Spain.

    Donnelly is a nationally recognized leader in the application of

    The Michigan Quality Council was created in 1993 by business leaders and
is supported by Gov. John Engler to promote Total Quality Management (TQM)
practices in businesses, educational institutions and organizations throughout
Michigan.  One of the council's primary functions is to oversee the Michigan
Quality Leadership Award given each November to recognize organizations for
outstanding quality management.
    Membership in the Michigan Quality Council includes business, education,
