Superior Industries International Names Steven J. Borick Vice President, Strategic Planning
VAN NUYS, Calif.--March 30, 1999--Superior Industries International Inc. Tuesday announced that Steven J. Borick, a director of the company since 1981 and chairman of the Long Range Financial Planning Committee, has been named to the new position of vice president, strategic planning.As vice president, strategic planning, Borick will play a critical role in the development and implementation of Superior's growth strategy for the new millennium. Superior is committed to building its position in the emerging market for non-wheel aluminum automotive components, a potentially vast opportunity now just in its infancy.
Borick, 46, joins Superior after serving since 1978 as president of Texakota Inc., a privately held oil and gas exploration and development company based in Houston, which he joined as a roughneck in 1976. He is a director and member of the Audit Committee of MDC Holdings Inc., Denver, the nation's eighth-largest home builder, and a director of Richmond American Homes, Denver.
Borick earned a B.A. in business administration from Western State College, Gunnison, Colo., in 1975. He is an active member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the American Petroleum Institute.
Superior supplies aluminum wheels and other aluminum components to Ford, General Motors, Chrysler de Mexico, BMW, Volkswagen and Audi, as well as various Japanese auto manufacturers including Toyota, Mazda, Nissan and Isuzu. The company also is a leading manufacturer of accessory products for the national automotive aftermarket.
