Johnson Controls Receives Toyota Awards
    MILWAUKEE, March 29 -- Johnson Controls Battery has received
Toyota's Delivery Performance Award for the sixth consecutive time, it was
announced today.
    The award was given to Johnson Controls to recognize its 100 percent
on-time-delivery and order fulfillment for the original equipment automotive
batteries it supplies to the automaker. In 1998, Johnson Controls shipped
225,000 batteries to Toyota. While Toyota battery orders have increased each
year, Johnson Controls has continued its perfect fulfillment record.
    Johnson Controls supplies automotive batteries to Toyota for the original
equipment market under the Toyota brand name. These batteries are manufactured
for Toyota in the Johnson Controls Toledo, Ohio plant.
    Johnson Controls also received a Certificate of Achievement-Quality
Performance from Toyota. This achievement reflects its status as a zero defect
supplier.
