AAA Appoints Bob Brown as Media Relations Manager

    SAN FRANCISCO--March 24, 1999--The AAA affiliate of Northern California, Nevada and Utah has named Bob Brown as its new Media Relations Manager.
    Brown brings several years of media, legislative and consumer affairs experience to his new role. In his new position, Brown will manage all media outreach and interaction for AAA.
    Brown's entire professional career has been in public service. He most recently served as Deputy Director of the California Department of Consumer Affairs, an appointment by former Governor Pete Wilson. In that role, Brown managed all communications and education programs for the department, serving as the Governor's primary spokesperson on consumer and state regulatory matters.
    Previously, Brown served as a legislative aide in the California State Senate and was a field representative to a United States Senator. Brown also served as assistant to the director of the California Arts Council and worked as a research and policy assistant at the United States Department of Education in Washington, DC.
    A native of Lafayette, California, Brown earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Davis.

It is the second largest regional affiliate of the national AAA organization, which has more than 40 million members in the United States and Canada.
