23 March 1999

Annual Automotive Supplier's Charity Roast to Honor J.T. Battenberg III, April 13 in Detroit
DETROIT, March 23 -- The third annual Supplier Roast for
Charity will honor J. T. Battenberg III, Chairman, CEO and President of Delphi
Automotive Systems, Tuesday, April 13, at the Detroit Athletic Club.
Battenberg continues the tradition by the automotive suppliers of
selecting a "high profile executive whose company has been in the forefront of
industry news during the past year," according to John C. Farris, co-chairman
of the roast. "J. T. has consistently been the focus of industry news and is
reshaping the entire landscape for the automotive supplier community for years
to come."
The roasters for the evening include Richard "Dick" Snell, last year's
honoree and chairman, CEO of Federal Mogul; Roy S. Roberts, vice president and
group executive of General Motors; "Paul W." Smith, WJR Morning Show Host; and
Roger K. Powers, president of Ward's Communications. The reception at the DAC
begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7:15 p.m.
Last year, the annual dinner raised $25,000 for charity, and this year,
Battenberg has designated that the proceeds from the evening will go to
Women's Hospice Committee of Oakland County, Lighthouse and the MINDS
Foundation.
Tickets for the evening are $2,000 for a corporate sponsor table of eight
or $200 for individual dual tickets. Ticket information is available from
Marcey Duering at 248-528-5110.
