Brann and Stickley Promoted at Pep Boys

    PHILADELPHIA--March 18, 1999--The Pep Boys -- Manny, Moe & Jack , the nation's leading automotive aftermarket retail and service chain, announced that Robert E. Brann has been promoted to Senior Vice President-Merchandising and that D. Kent Stickley has been promoted to Vice President-Commercial.
    Mr. Brann, 47, has served as Vice President-Merchandising since he joined Pep Boys in August 1998. Mr. Stickley, 45, joined Pep Boys in August 1997 and was promoted to Assistant Vice President-Commercial in February 1998.
    Pep Boys' CEO, Mitchell G. Leibovitz, made the following comments:
