Kelley Automotive Group Looks to Achieve Greater Efficiency, Turns to ADP

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.--March 18, 1999--The Dealer Services Group of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (ADP), a leading provider of integrated business solutions, has partnered with Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Kelley Automotive Group to streamline Kelley's information systems and consolidate 11 stores - across 2 states - onto one high-performance dealer management system.
"Only ADP can deliver the performance we need, and the power we demand, on a centralized platform," said Tom Kelley, Kelley Automotive Group president. "We chose the flexible Millennia3(tm) platform. That, combined with ADP's strong network integration experience, gives us a solution we know we can rely on."
ADP's network expertise was most evident last month as Kelley Toyota-Atlanta became the first store to go on-line. The first step in consolidating Kelley's system, the Atlanta installation is part of an all-encompassing business solution designed to help Kelley as it works to grow its business and expand its market share.
Kelley was presented, and chose, a variety of ADP products to accomplish its business goals. The Atlanta installation, and those to come, include such ADP powerhouses as the flexible Millennia3(tm) platform, the proven Elite(tm) dealer management system and several Windows(R)-based applications, including Sales Advisor(tm), Super Service Advisor(tm), Management Advisor(tm) and F&I Advisor(tm). And, because the Millennia3 can easily accommodate up to 2,300 users from multiple locations, Kelley can quickly access information from 11 stores.
"The Kelley Group contract is a large and complex consolidation project - the kind of task that really highlights our capabilities and experience," said ADP Dealer Services President S. Michael Martone. "We've assessed their needs and are confident we can deliver the solutions that will ensure the Kelley Group achieves its goals."
Key to the success of the Atlanta installation, and to meeting Kelley's goals, is ADP's commitment to ongoing customer support and training.
"ADP's training, ongoing support services and their automotive retailing dominance ensure we will benefit from this relationship long after the entire system is installed," Kelley said.
In partnering with ADP, Kelley has again entered into a strategic relationship which helps the company remain competitive without experiencing the burden created by increased fixed investments. And as Kelley continues to streamline its growing businesses, it has partnered with other companies, including MCI WorldCom, CINTAS and Delphi Automotive.
The Kelley Automotive Group was founded by James E. Kelley in 1952. Jim Kelley remains active in the business he started 47 years ago as the company's Chairman. Jim's son, Tom Kelley, is the President. The Kelley Automotive Group is the nation's 34th largest automobile retailer with 13 dealerships in Indiana and Georgia.
The Dealer Services Group of ADP is a leading provider of integrated computing solutions to automobile and truck manufacturers and more than 18,000 auto and truck dealers throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The Dealer Services Group is the third largest business unit of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. .
