Autoweb Appoints Two Industry Leaders to New Management PositionsSANTA CLARA, Calif., March 15 -- Autoweb.com, the consumer automotive Internet service, today announced the appointments of two industry veterans to senior management positions. Catherine Y. Gordon has been appointed Vice President of Product Management, a newly created position. Gordon Kass has been named Chief Technology Officer. Frank Zamani, former Chief Technology Officer, will continue in his role of Chairman of the Board. Catherine Gordon brings to Autoweb.com over twenty years of experience in the consumer technology industry. Most recently, Gordon served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Datafusion, where she led internal operations and strategic planning, overall product management and marketing communications. For the past fourteen years, Gordon has held various senior management positions at Knight-Ridder Information, Inc., a $300 million dollar online information company. As Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Gordon was responsible for worldwide marketing and management of all products and services, which included strategic planning, new product creation and development, operations and database management. Earlier in her career, Gordon developed products for Mead Data Central (LEXIS/NEXIS). Gordon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Immaculata College and a Masters in Library Science from Villanova University. Gordon Kass brings over twenty years of experience in engineering, technology and Internet development. Prior to joining Autoweb.com, Kass was Vice President of Engineering for Starwave Corporation, the leading Internet technology company, where he oversaw technical development on popular web sites, including espn.com, abcnews.com, nba.com, nfl.com and others. Additionally, Kass managed next-generation development of core software used throughout Disney Corporation properties, including static and dynamic web page publishing software, e-commerce, registration and authorization systems and high-scale ad-serving and traffic-counting products. Kass also served as President and CEO of Sportvision, Inc., a multimedia/Internet company. Earlier in his career, Kaas worked for Sun Microsystems, where he managed software development.
